Who does TEFL courses?
TEFL teachers come from all kinds of backgrounds and ages. They all have in common the desire to live and work abroad and have a fuller travel experience.
Which one are you?
Recession Rider
Your current career has taken a slide in the recession. You could hang around hoping something else turns up or do something constructive until the economy picks up. Teaching English is going to look good on your CV.
Career Changer
You've had enough of your job or even the other way way round. You need more satisfaction. You feel that working every day must mean more than just paying the bills. Well, you love travel, so working with people that value you while experiencing a different country is just the ticket.
Gap year
Taking a well-earned break, packing the backpack and heading off is what's on the menu. Finding the cash can be tricky so picking up work by teaching English in the different countries you plan to visit will make the journey affordable.
What now?
You've retired, but still have a lot to offer. A wealth of experience and life skills is just what a classroom could do with, and whether that's in another country or the one you're currently in, teaching English can give you what you are looking for.
