I am from near Paisley in Scotland, and moved to Spain twenty years ago, where I have taught English to people from many cultures and nations. I have taught all levels and age groups. My lessons have included face to face, telephone and online classes. My experience also includes being an examiner for the Cambridge exams.
Apart from teaching, I was a senior teacher at the British Council in Spain for several years, and head teacher trainer for an academic organisation in the north of Spain, where I taught teachers how to improve their methodology and make their lessons interesting and dynamic when teaching English.
I am always studying something. I have completed several TEFL courses, the Trinity Licentiate for teaching English as a foreign language, an Advanced Diploma for Applied Linguistics and a Masters of Arts in Education. I continue developing my skills, and am presently working on a Doctorate in Education.
My hobbies are pottering in my garden, spending time with my dogs and cats and when I can, reading. My favourite author is Charles Dickens. I live near the beautiful city of Avila.
