How the courses work
TEFL Earth online courses are, as you would expect, totally online. There are no messy downloads, no attachments and all your work is saved online as you progress through the course.Once you have enrolled on the course you will be able to log in and start your course.
50-hour online TEFL course
Lessons
Each unit contains a lesson. A lesson is a series of pages each of which has a question that summarises that page. When you have completed a lesson, you can then move onto the activities that test you on what you have learnt in that lesson.
Activities
There are different activities. Each unit has at least one written assignment which you submit to your tutor for assessment. You will also have objective activities such as matching activities, gap fill, true or false and quizzes. You need to achieve a certain level to pass each lesson and activity. Don't worry! If you don't achieve the pass mark, your tutor will be on hand to offer you guidance and support and to give you another go.
The activities are intended to consolidate your learning, and are not designed for you to fail the course.
Support
You have a personal tutor who is available to answer any questions you may have. Your tutor also feeds back on your assignments so you know exactly where (or if) you need to improve and change.
Forums
Forums are great to share ideas and thoughts aout course your course, perhaps even teaching ideas for a lesson plan or a question about an assignment.
Certificate
When you have finished your course, you will receive a '50-hour TEFL certificate'. This is normally sent out to you within 10 working days.
30-hour online grammar course
Lesson and activities
This course works a little differently, you read a bit of theory and then you do a bit of practice. You will have a go at a variety of activities like gap fills, matching activities, quizzes, crosswords etc.
Support
The Grammar Guru is only on the end of an email to answer any grammar grizzlies you may have. It's unknown as yet who this person is since he wears a blue mask and underpants and is known only as GG.
Forums
Again, you have access to forums to share grammar gems with other learners on the course.
Certificate
At the end of the course, you receive a '30-hour grammar and language awareness certificate', which is sent out within 10 working days. (Sooner, if you are desperate)
