1 General

Q. Can I get a job with TEFL Earth?
A. Yes, we have a number of positions reserved for graduates from our course, check out the jobs boards to see what is available.
Q. Do I need any qualifications or experience?
A. No, all TEFL teachers need to start somewhere. Our courses are open to all native or near-native level English speakers.
Q. Do I need to buy any materials?
A. No, everything you need to complete the course is provided. There is a recommended reading list though for when you start teaching.
Q. Do I need to speak the language of the country I'm going to?
A. No, you are in demand because you will speak only English in the classroom. However, learning the local language will help with your integration into the local community.
Q. When can I apply for jobs?
A. You can actually apply right away. As long as you put on your CV that you are undertaking TEFL training.
Q. When do I get my certificate?
A. You will receive your certificate within 10 working days of you completing your course? If you're in a rush, let us know and we'll get it out to you sooner.

2 50-hour TEFL course

Q. How long does this course take?
A. On average 2 - 3 months, though we have had someone complete it within 2 weeks. You have 6 months to complete it.
Q. Is it enough to get me work?
A. Yes, this course provides the initial qualification in TEFL. In fact, we have a number of recruiters looking for graduates from this course.
Q. Is this course accredited?
A. Yes, we have accreditation from the ODLQC and we are an SQA Approved Centre. There is no international awarding body for TEFL and schools are looking for proof that your have studied TEFL methodology.

3 30-hour grammar course

Q. Can I add on this course later?
A. Yes, you can. Though, if you book this course together with your 50-hour TEFL course you save £25.
Q. Do I need to take the grammar course?
A. You don't need it to get a job, but you will feel a lot more confident if you know one end of a participle from the other. Also, bear in mind, as with any profession, the more qualified you are, the more employable you are.
